Dr Liu Huimin is a Senior Consultant Colorectal Surgeon in the Department of General Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore in 2009. Dr Liu obtained her postgraduate Masters of Medicine (Surgery) degree in 2016 and completed her residency in General Surgery with the National Healthcare Group the same year. She is an accredited specialist with the Singapore Medical Council and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr Liu's clinical interests lie in minimally invasive colorectal surgery and proctology. She was awarded the Health Manpower Development Award by the Ministry of Health in 2019, which enabled her to pursue advanced colorectal surgery fellowships at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand and the Cancer Institute Hospital in Tokyo, Japan.
In addition to her surgical practice, Dr Liu has a keen interest in medical education and quality improvement. She serves as the Associate Program Director of the National Healthcare Group General Surgery Residency Programme and is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Nanyang Technological University) and a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (National University of Singapore). Dr Liu also holds the position of Deputy Chairperson of the Patient Records Review Subcommittee and acts as a mentor for the hospital's Clinical Practice Improvement Programme.
