About

Dr Vanessa Lim is a Consultant Dermatologist at the National Skin Centre (NSC), Singapore, with over a decade of experience in clinical practice and medical education. She is a member of both the Immunodermatology Unit and the Inpatient Dermatology Unit, where her clinical interests lie in managing challenging immune-mediated and multisystem skin diseases. She adopts a structured and thoughtful approach, particularly in managing conditions that require long-term follow-up and adjustment of treatment. Dr Lim is also clinically adept at general dermatology services including skin surgery and lasers, managing a broad range of skin conditions across different patient groups.

In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr Lim is actively engaged in medical education, both at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. As a Public Service Commission (PSC) Medicine scholar, she also holds a Master of Public Health from the National University of Singapore, and maintains a strong emphasis on population health, preventive care, and health systems thinking. Her training also supports the design of educational programmes that are aligned with public health priorities, equipping primary care physicians and allied health professionals with the skills to manage common dermatological conditions effectively and safely in the community. She currently serves as the Clinical Director for the upcoming NSC-NTU LKC Graduate Certificate, FlexiMasters and Master of Science in Primary Care Dermatology, where she leads curriculum development and assessment design. Dr Lim has a strong interest in the use of artificial intelligence in dermatology education, and her work explores innovative approaches to enhance learning and clinical reasoning using AI-enabled tools. She has received recognition for her contributions in the field of medical education, including the NHG Teaching Award for Junior Clinicians (2016) and NHG Education Research Grant (2021).

Her work reflects a strong commitment to patient care in complex clinical settings, and the integration of public health perspectives and education innovation to advance dermatology care and training for system-level impact
