Dr Joel Lim is a Consultant Dermatologist at the National Skin Centre (NSC), Singapore, and serves as Head of the Laboratory Divisions. He is also the Consultant-in-Charge of the Lymphoma Clinic and is actively involved in the Dermatopathology Unit, where he contributes to both clinical and diagnostic dermatology services.
His clinical work focuses on cutaneous lymphomas and complex dermatological conditions that require close clinicopathological correlation. He manages patients with suspected or confirmed skin lymphomas, where accurate diagnosis and careful long-term follow-up are essential. His dual role in dermatopathology allows him to bridge clinical findings with laboratory diagnostics, supporting more precise and informed treatment decisions.
As Head of the Laboratory Divisions, Dr Lim oversees key diagnostic services within NSC, ensuring quality and consistency across laboratory processes. His work plays an important role in supporting both dermatology and broader clinical services, particularly in cases where histopathological input is critical.
Dr Lim is also deeply committed to teaching and has been recognised for his contributions to medical education. He has received multiple teaching awards over the years, including recognition from the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, National Healthcare Group, and NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, reflecting his consistent dedication to training and mentoring junior doctors.
He is actively involved in academic activities and is a regular speaker at professional meetings. His work reflects a strong commitment to diagnostic excellence, multidisciplinary care, and medical education.
