About

Dr Gavin Lim is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He provides image-guided care for patients with a broad range of vascular and non-vascular conditions, using minimally invasive procedures for both diagnosis and treatment. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams across medical and surgical specialties to deliver safe, effective and individualised care.

His clinical practice includes diagnostic angiography, angioplasty and stenting for peripheral arterial and venous diseases, embolisation for bleeding and tumour management, and image-guided drainage of abscesses and fluid collections. He also performs dialysis access interventions, including tunnelled catheter insertions and arteriovenous fistuloplasty. His special interests are in complex peripheral arterial disease and interventional oncology, where he applies advanced imaging techniques to improve procedural precision and patient outcomes.
Dr Lim obtained his medical degree (MB BCh BAO, LRCP & SI) from the National University of Ireland through the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Penang Medical College in 2005. He completed specialist training in Diagnostic Radiology in Singapore, attaining both the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR, United Kingdom) and the Master of Medicine in Diagnostic Radiology (Singapore) in 2012. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS), and a member of the Singapore Radiological Society.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Lim is actively involved in professional education and development within the field of interventional radiology. He has served as faculty and speaker at workshops and conferences, and regularly contributes to clinical training programmes for radiology residents and medical students. His commitment to teaching reflects his belief in continuous learning and the importance of nurturing the next generation of radiologists.

Dr Lim is also engaged in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives focused on enhancing the safety, efficiency and outcomes of interventional procedures. His research interests span vascular and oncologic interventions, image-guided therapies and procedural innovation. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and ongoing studies exploring advances in minimally invasive treatment techniques.

Through his clinical, teaching and research work, Dr Lim remains dedicated to advancing patient care and service standards in interventional radiology. He believes in a patient-centred approach — combining technical precision with empathy, communication and teamwork to ensure that every patient feels supported, informed and cared for throughout their treatment journey.
