Adj A/Prof Kaw completed fellowship training in thoracic imaging and interstitial lung disease at the University of California, San Francisco in 2002. His specialist interests encompass the diagnosis and management of complex chest conditions and breast pathology, with particular focus on image-guided interventions.

Throughout his career, Adj A/Prof Kaw has contributed to the advancement of radiology practice through active involvement in professional bodies. He has served on multiple committees within the Singapore Radiological Society, College of Radiologists (Singapore), Ministry of Health, and Tan Tock Seng Hospital in various capacities.
