Haematology, Tan Tock Seng Hospital
Dr Fan Bingwen Eugene is a Senior Consultant Haematologist at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is also a Visiting Consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and Woodlands Health Campus, and an Honorary Haematologist at Northern Health, Victoria, Australia. His clinical interests include general haematology, with a focus on thrombosis and haemostasis, artificial intelligence, and medical innovation.
Dr Fan is a Senior Clinician Innovator and recipient of the National Medical Research Council Clinician Innovator Development Award in 2020 and the National Medical Research Council Clinician Innovator Award – Senior Investigator in 2025. He was awarded the National Medical Research Council Research Training Fellowship in 2024 and 2025, as well as the Singapore Biodesign Innovation Fellowship in 2024, a national talent development programme by A*STAR Singapore. He received the Young Investigator Award from the International Society for Laboratory Haematology in 2021 and the NHG Health Innovator of the Year Award in 2022. He has received funding from the National Health Innovation Centre for his work on artificial intelligence in peripheral blood films, and from The Sumitomo Foundation for his research in the medical humanities.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr Fan holds an Assistant Professor joint appointment at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and is a Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He serves as Senior Editor for Seminars in Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Associate Editor for Research and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis and the Annals of Haematology, and as a member of the editorial board of the American Journal of Haematology. He is dedicated to providing personalised, patient-centred, and evidence-based care.
