Adj. Asst Prof Bryan Ang is the Deputy Head of the Glaucoma Service, Head of Clinical Services, as well as Director of the Clinical Management Committee, at the NHG Eye Institute (NHGEI) @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. 

Dr Ang graduated from the National University of Singapore, where he was placed on the Dean's List for multiple academic years, obtained a Distinction in Surgery in the Final M.B.B.S examinations, and was recognized as the 2nd Best Candidate in Surgery in his graduating cohort. He further received the Gold Medal as the Best Candidate in the Masters in Medicine (Ophthalmology) examinations. Dr Ang was elected as a Fellow of both the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London) in 2016 and the Academy of Medicine Singapore in 2017.

Dr Ang specialises in Glaucoma and Cataract Surgery. His surgical techniques, particularly in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS), have been internationally recognized, winning multiple awards, including 1st Prize at the World Glaucoma Congress 2023, Best Video at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting 2021, and 2nd Prize at the World Glaucoma Congress 2019. Dr Ang is regularly invited as a speaker and instructor for numerous glaucoma-related talks, courses and wetlabs worldwide, including at renowned international conferences, such as the ASEAN Ophthalmology Society Meeting, Asia-Pacific Glaucoma Congress, Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting, American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting, American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Annual Meeting, World Ophthalmology Congress and the World Glaucoma Congress.

Dr Ang is active in teaching and research. He holds adjunct Assistant Professor appointments with both the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He served as a member of the NHGEI Residency Core Faculty Team from 2022-2023 and continues to train Ophthalmology residents in advanced cataract surgery. Dr Ang holds several research grants focusing on glaucoma surgery and diagnostics, and has published more than 55 scientific papers in international journals. He is an appointed Research Collaborator with the Mayo Clinic, USA, and sits on the editorial and advisory boards of international journals, including Frontiers in Medicine (Ophthalmology) and Ophthalmology and Therapy. Dr Ang is currently a member of the National Glaucoma Subspecialty Committee, College of Ophthalmologists, Singapore, and serves as Treasurer of the Glaucoma Association of Singapore. n 2014, Dr Ang was awarded the Singapore Health Quality Service Award (Silver) and served as the Quality Reporting Officer for the NHG Eye Institute @ Tan Tock Seng Hospital, from 2020-2023.
