TTSH Pathology
Overview

The Department of Pathology provides comprehensive diagnostic services that guide treatment decisions and improve patient outcomes. Our extensive range of laboratory tests supports the diagnosis, management and prevention of diverse medical conditions.

We specialize in two key areas:

  1. Anatomical Pathology: Analysis of tissues and cells for disease diagnosis
  2. Molecular Pathology: Genetic testing for precise, personalized medicine

Our dedicated team includes medical, scientific, technical, and support staff who work together to provide accurate, timely results that help guide patient care decisions.

Our laboratory maintains accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), demonstrating our commitment to international standards of excellence.

Anatomical Pathology

  • Surgical pathology services for tissue examination and disease diagnosis
  • Rapid frozen section services for intraoperative diagnosis
  • Specialized testing including:
    • Histochemical
    • Immunohistochemistry
    • In-situ hybridization
    • Immunofluorescence
    • Electron microscopy (for renal disease diagnosis)
  • Cytopathology services for fine needle aspirations and non-gynaecological specimens
  • Consultation services for complex cases
  • Digital pathology (Launching soon)

Molecular Pathology

  • Comprehensive next generation sequencing (NGS) of solid tumors, to detect clinically significant genomic alterations
  • Rapid assays for detecting various single-gene mutations and gene fusions using a PCR-based molecular diagnostic platform

Fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) assays for detecting clinically significant gene copy number alterations in solid tumors
