Certain occupations are associated with an increased risk of exposure to vaccine-preventable infections. Employees who are infected could pass on the diseases to others. Vaccination can protect employees and keep workplaces free of vaccine-preventable infections such as measles and influenza.
Before getting vaccinated, our team of doctors and nurses will assess the individual's relevant vaccination history, confirming the validity of certificates as appropriate. For employees with no vaccine records, a blood test may be carried out to check their immunity status. We will also provide patient reminder systems to ensure employees receive all their vaccination series when vaccination schedules are still ongoing.
The following occupations should consider the need for vaccination include, but not limited to:
- Healthcare workers who have contact with patients or work in clinical areas of hospitals
- Laboratory personnel who perform cultures or handle certain pathogens
- Employees who work in childcare and day care centres, and long-term care facilities
- Frontline responders such as armed forces personnel, immigration officers, police and prison officers
- Animal handlers and veterinary workers
