We regret that certain procedures may not be available at some of our polyclinics. Depending on the clinical condition, some patients will need to be referred to the A&E or to the specialist department for further management even if the service is available. The doctor will advise you during the consultation in the general clinic, during which s/he will review your condition and advise you on the most appropriate treatment.

For patients advised to have the procedure done electively, the doctor will schedule the minor procedure at the next available appointment.

If the patient’s condition warrants an urgent procedure to be done on the day of consultation, the attending doctor will refer the patient to the A&E department or arrange for the procedure to be done on the same day at the procedure room.

For IUCD insertion/ IUCD removal & insertion, please call NHG Polyclinics call centre for appointment on the first 1 day of menstruation. For IUCD removal, can book appointment with NHG Polyclinics women clinic.

The following only applies to patients who are scheduled for elective minor procedure (ie. have been given a Minor Procedure appointment):

On the Day of the Procedure:

• You are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes before your appointment time.

• If you are below age 21, your guardian (preferably a parent) will need to be present to give consent. (Exception: National Servicemen and employment pass holders do not require a parent or guardian's consent).

• For your safety, it is advisable not to drive after minor procedure is carried out.

• The attending doctor will assess and ensure that the minor procedure planned for is still indicated for your clinical condition. You will be advised on the most appropriate treatment accordingly and we may refer you to a specialist of the hospital's A&E department if warranted by your clinical condition.
