
It is an antifungal medication used to treat susceptible fungal infections. The medication works by killing the fungi responsible for the condition.
- Do not stop taking your medication without checking with your healthcare professional.
- You may take this medication with or without food.
- This medication should be swallowed whole. Do not chew, crush, dissolve or open the capsules
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Then take your next dose at the usual time. Do not take two doses to make up for the missed dose.
Inform your healthcare professional if:
- You are allergic to this medication or any of the other ingredients of this medication
- Do not drive, use machinery or do anything else that could be dangerous if you are dizzy or are not alert
- You are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
- Decreased appetite
- Headache
- Trouble sleeping
- Nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain
- Rash, skin itchiness
- Feeling tired or weak
The symptoms of a drug allergy include one or more of the following:
- Swollen face/eyes/lips/tongue
- Difficulty in breathing
- Itchy skin rashes over your whole body
Some of these side effects include:
- Liver problem: Signs include dark urine or light coloured stools, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, yellowing of your eyes or skin
- Heart problem: unusual heart rhythm known as QT shortening, chest pain or pressure, fast or unusual heartbeat
- Kidney problem: Unable to pass urine, change in urine volume, blood in urine
- Feeling confused, mood changes
- Shortness of breath
- Swelling on arms and legs
- Dizziness or passing out
If you experience any of these symptoms, you should stop your medication and see your healthcare professional immediately
This medication may cause significant changes to the effects of other concomitant medications. Conversely, there are medications that can cause significant changes to the effects of this medication. You should therefore avoid such associated medications. Consult your healthcare professionals for further advice on the suitability of this medication with your other medications
Store in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep this medication away from children.
Pack the medication into a bag and bring it back to the pharmacy where you received the medication from.
