Step 1

Please wash your hands. Fill the clean bottle (available in starter kits) with 240ml of room temperature distilled (or boiled) water.
 

Step 2

Cut the Neilmed or Flo sinus mixture packet at the corner and pour its contents into the bottle.

Alternatively, you may use the recipe: 1 spoonful (5ml) sodium bicarbonate powder + 1 spoonful (5ml) table salt in 500 ml of water.

A syringe is used for this method instead of a bottle. This can be obtained from the retail pharmacy without prescription.
 

Step 3

(ONLY if steroid nasal rinse is required)

Depending on your prescription:

• 10x sprays of Betamethasone valerate 0.1% scalp lotion OR

• Respule: Add 1 respule of Budesonide (1mg/2ml) to the bottle.

Tighten the cap and tube on the bottle securely. Place one finger over the tip of the cap and shake the bottle gently to dissolve the mixture.
 

Step 4

Standing in front of a sink, bend forward at a 90-degree angle and tilt your head down.

Place the cap snugly against your nasal passage (or syringe in nasal cavity).

Open your mouth and say "K" while squeezing the bottle gently until the solution starts draining from the OPPOSITE nasal passage.

Rinse each nostril with 100ml (half the bottle). Do this procedure twice a day - morning and night.

Step 5

Rinse out the bottle and wash the nozzle with dish soap or baby shampoo and water after each use.

Shake the solution and squirt through nozzle making sure solution flows over nozzle tip. Air-dry completely.

Once a week, clean the bottle as specified above and then place the bottle, cap and tube in the microwave for 60-90 seconds.

Bottles should be replaced after three months.
