KTPH CT Sleep Protocol
Overview

Department of Otolaryngology (ENT) | Head & Neck Surgery, KTPH

Your surgeon has ordered a CT scan to better evaluate your diagnoses prior to surgery. This scan is ordered with a special protocol ("Sleep Protocol") and can only be done at the KTPH Department of Diagnostic Radiology.

Patient Instructions during the CT scan:

• You should have your neck in a neutral (straight) position, with your head placed directly on the CT scanner bed (a small pillow may be used to keep head position)

• Your teeth should be gently touching in your natural bite position (smiling with your teeth together)

• Breathe through your nose with lips sealed

• Gently exhale and hold your breath when the radiology technician tells you it is time for the CT scan
