The course aims to equip participants with knowledge and skills on patch testing which is a gold standard method in diagnosing contact allergy.

Target Audience

Registered Nurses with at least 1-year experience in dermatology setting in healthcare institution.

 

Course Objectives

At the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

1. Acquire knowledge related to allergic contact dermatitis and patch testing.
2. Learn the techniques of preparation and application of patch test
3. Understand the different of types of patch test batteries / series
4. Understand the specific types of allergens that require compounding
5. Interpret false-positive and positive patch test result.
6. Provide education and advice on avoidance of allergens​

Course Assessment

There will be a Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) test at the end of the training.
