Adjunct Associate Professor Tan Hui Ling

Adj A/Prof Tan Hui Ling is a specialist in anaesthesiology, with sub-speciality accreditation in intensive care medicine. She trained in Singapore, Australia and the United Kingdom. She serves as Group Chief Value Officer, leading the strategic development, implementation and continuous improvement of value-based care, clinical risk management and quality programmes to promote excellence in clinical care and patient outcomes. In this role, she provides cluster-wide leadership in value-based care, clinical risk management and quality improvement. She has a strong interest in developing healthcare organisations into high reliability organisations and learning from other industries.
She has extensive experience in Quality, Patient Safety, Clinical Risk Management, Healthcare Licensing and Accreditation, having served as Department Quality Review Officer, Hospital Patient Safety Officer, Assistant Chairman, Medical Board (Clinical Quality and Audit) and chaired the workgroup in charge of the inaugural MOH-Singapore Hospice Council National Palliative Care Quality Improvement Programme. In Value-Based Care, she has guided the evolution of clinical pathways and case management, the development of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery programme and the Choosing Wisely programme.
Adj A/Prof Tan brings extensive clinical administration experience at hospital, cluster, and national levels, having previously served as ICU lead for infrastructure and capability development at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases and as ICU Committee Chair, leading the COVID-19 pandemic ICU response.
