Prof Nicholas Chew leads the development of clinical care and innovation as Chairman Medical Board of Woodlands Hospital. A Senior Consultant in Medical Psychiatry, Prof Chew has pioneered new care models and workflows since 2017. As NHG’s former Group Chief Education Officer, he played a key role in building NHG’s population health workforce and shaping clinical education strategies. He continues to influence manpower planning through the NHG Medical Manpower Council. Prof Chew is an active contributor to medical education research and was honoured with the National Medical Excellence Award (Clinical Educator) in 2020. He holds an MBBS, a Master of Medicine in Psychiatry, and a Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy from NUS. He also earned a Master of Science in Health Professions Education from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. Through his leadership, Woodlands Hospital is shaping the future of care with a strong foundation in mental health, workforce capability, and patient-centred design.
