Prof Lim Tock Han

Prof Lim Tock Han is a pioneering clinician-leader who has made significant contributions to medical education and clinical excellence in Singapore. As Group Chairman Medical Board (Clinical) at NHG Health, he provides expert guidance on clinical standards and governance. Previously, he served as Deputy Group CEO for Education and Research and was the founding Education Director at NHG, where he established the foundations for undergraduate and clinical training across the cluster. A senior ophthalmologist, Prof Lim played a key role in the development of the NHG Eye Institute at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He continues to advise NHG’s education and research strategies, and chairs national bodies including the Clinical Optometry Practice Implementation Committee and the Optometry and Optician Board. Prof Lim’s academic background includes an MBBS, a Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology, and fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. A respected educator and clinician, he has helped shape the future of healthcare through his dedication to clinical excellence, professional standards, and medical education.
