Prof Jason Cheah

Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer (Strategy, Planning & Resourcing)

 

Prof Jason Cheah serves as Deputy Group CEO of NHG Health, leading strategic planning, system and organisational transformation, and cluster-wide corporate services and resourcing. He champions organisational culture and long-term strategic development. A trailblazer in integrated care, Prof Cheah was instrumental in establishing the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC), leading the organisation from 2009-2018. Earlier, from 2005 to 2009, as CEO of NHG Polyclinics, he started the modernisation of the Polyclinics, launched Family Physician Clinics and initiated a number of new and innovative care models. In 2014, Prof Cheah was appointed by the Ministry of Health to build and develop Woodlands Hospital, Singapore’s first purpose-built integrated healthcare campus, comprising acute, sub-acute, rehabilitative and long term care facilities within one vicinity, laying a strong foundation and blueprint for future new health campuses in Singapore. The hospital became fully operational in 2024.

 

Prof Cheah is an Adjunct Professor at LKCMedicine (NTU) and contributes actively to academia and international healthcare conferences and platforms. He has published and presented widely on topics such as healthcare value and quality, chronic disease management, integration of care, healthcare financing, leadership and advancing technology. He has served on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Integrated Care since 2011 and has been a regular editorial reviewer in a number of recognised journals. A trained public health physician, he earned his medical degree and Masters of Public Health (with Distinction) from NUS, followed by advanced qualifications in healthcare management and an MBA from the UK. Prof Cheah is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
