A/Prof Bernard Thong is a specialist in rheumatology, clinical immunology, and allergy, and serves as Chairman Medical Board at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). He plays a key role in advancing precision medicine, value-based care, and integrated models that bridge Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine. A prolific researcher and clinician, A/Prof Thong has authored over 130 publications and serves on editorial boards including Asia-Pacific Allergy. He holds leadership roles across several national bodies such as MOH’s Drug Advisory Committee and the National Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Formerly Head of Rheumatology and Divisional Chairman for Medicine at TTSH, he now co-chairs NHG’s Collaborative Care Steering Committee and sits on multiple boards for clinical governance and manpower planning. A/Prof Thong completed his specialist training in Singapore and the UK, and holds fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. His clinical leadership continues to shape multidisciplinary, patient-centred care across the cluster.
