Abdul Hamid Bin Abdullah is a past Audit Director in the Auditor-General’s Office (AGO) Singapore with 38 years of experience in auditing Government ministries, statutory boards and other Government agencies. He retired from AGO in 2017. Currently he is freelancing as an Executive Advisor in Straits Interactive Pte Ltd as well as a lecturer, trainer and consultant in a number of organisations in the area of IT Auditing, Information Security and GRC (Governance, Risk Management and Compliance). His auditing experience in the public sector includes financial statements audits, compliance audits, IT and information security audits, and operational audits. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a Chartered Accountant of Singapore (CA Singapore) and a Fellow of the Institute of Internal Auditors (FIIA) Singapore.
Abdul Hamid is a Past International Vice-President of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) from 2002 to 2006. Prior to this, he served on the ISACA Research Foundation (1999 – 2001) and was President of the ISACA Singapore Chapter from 1996 to 1998. He is a founding Council member of the Association of Information Security Professionals (AISP) and a past Governor of the Institute of Internal Auditors Singapore (2004 – 2018). He was an adjunct lecturer in the Institute of Systems Science (ISS), from 2007 to 2017.
At present, he is a trainer in courses relating to Information Security and IT Audit at the IIAS Academy and an Associate Faculty in the Singapore Institute of Technology. He is an active volunteer in a number of charities and a grassroots leader. He is serving as a member of the Charity Council and the National Council on Problem Gambling.
