Dr Evangeline Arthur completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies in CMC Hospital, Vellore, India. She obtained her MBBS degree in 2011 and MS General Surgery degree in 2020. After her undergraduate studies, she worked in a Secondary Level Hospital in a semi urban area in South India where she noticed a dire need for a general surgeon.

After completing her post graduate degree in General Surgery, she returned to the same hospital to help set up the General Surgery Department. She worked there as the single full time General Surgeon for 3 years. The department gradually increased its scope of services to become one of the key department in the hospital. During her tenure at the hospital, she also took on administrative responsibilities including Additional Deputy Medical Superintendent (Clinical), Patient Safety Officer and Quality Officer. She was also responsible for the work and academic schedule for the juniors.
