Description: Master safe techniques for handling a manual wheelchair and assisting with transfers for frail persons.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Get to know the different types of wheelchairs
  • Learn how to perform safety checks before using a wheelchair
  • Learn how to handle a wheelchair when going downslope and over kerb
  • Learn basic transfer techniques for frail persons (not fully dependent)
  • Understand the principles of Safe Manual Handling

Group size: 8-24 pax (depends on venue)
