Dr Nathaniel Heah is a Urologist with specialist training in Reconstructive Urology, Andrology and minimally invasive urological surgery.
He graduated from Monash University, Australia in 2008 and joined Urology Residency in 2014 after completing his national service obligations. He completed his Urology training in 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, chapter of Urology (FAMS). Between 2022 and 2023, he completed a fellowship in Reconstructive Urology at the University of College London Hospital (UCLH) where he gained specialist expertise in urethral stricture surgery.
Dr Heah has also presented at several conferences in the field of Men's Health, and together with Dr Ronny Tan, pioneered the use of low-intensity shockwave therapy in restructured hospitals in Singapore. He is passionate about helping couples overcoming physical barriers to intimacy and is working hard to increase awareness of men's health and how it affects mental health and relationships. In particular, he specialises in procedures particularly related to men's health, including microsurgical varicocelectomies, penile prostheses and artificial urinary sphincter. As such, he is currently an active member of the Singapore Men's Health Society executive committee, and has organized and presented at public and GP forums on this issue.
He also performs minimally invasive urologic surgery, particularly endourological procedures such as Thulium Laser Fibre Enucleation of the Prostate (ThuFLeP) and Minimally Invasive Surgical Treatments (MIST) for the treatment of benign prostate enlargement, and routine supine mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy for the treatment of stone disease, which has shown to have shorter operating times and less blood loss.
Dr Heah is a clinical tutor for both Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
