Biodata

Dr Tan Ming Yuan is a General Surgeon, specialising in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery.

He serves as the Head of Service of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Unit at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH). He also lends his expertise as a Visiting Consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH) and Changi General Hospital (CGH).

Dr Tan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, UK; the American College of Surgeons; and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He has completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, and Liver Transplantation at Seoul National University Hospital, South Korea's top medical university. He graduated from the National University of Singapore.

In recognition of his clinical leadership, Dr Tan was appointed as Secretary of the Hepatopancreatobiliary Association of Singapore in 2023. He also serves as the Associate Programme Director for the NHG Health (NHG) Residency Programme, which is responsible for training the next generation of surgical specialists for the NHG cluster.

Dr Tan is active in teaching medical students, and his work has garnered several teaching awards, including the NHG Teaching Award for Senior Doctors and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine Special Recognition Award.​
