Primary Care Academy (PCA) was founded in 2008 to train healthcare professionals and ancillary staff in the Primary and Community care sectors. As part of its outreach efforts, it also reached out to many laypersons through community talks, health education and training courses for members of the public.
Today, PCA has built a reputation as a one-stop primary care training centre that is able to provide high-quality training and accreditation to healthcare professionals and community partners. PCA has a diverse range of courses from communication courses to clinical skills courses that cater to the breadth of care providers in the primary and community care space. We have also established collaborations with various community, professional and academic partners to support the updating of skills needs in this rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
With its experience from COVID-19 pandemic, PCA has shifted to providing training through blended learning techniques that leverage technology for knowledge dissemination while maintaining face-to-face sessions to maximise the experiential learning process.
As Singapore moves its healthcare from hospital to community with growing emphasis on the role of primary care through Healthier SG, PCA is well placed with its dedicated trainers and committed staff to play a significant role to further engage, endow and empower future generations of primary and community care providers to deliver optimum care outcomes for our population.
