Course Information
Learning Outcomes
  1. Understand the characteristics of an effective team, describe the developmental phases that a team progresses through and highlight the key areas that a team must pay attention to in order to thrive.
  2. Identify their color at work (personality type), recognize their strengths and weaknesses and explore the attributes of the different color groups of personality types in order to build positive relationships.
  3. Understand their own roles and learn about team members’ roles by identifying and resolving any misperceptions team members may have about the responsibilities of other healthcare professions.
  4. Identify both shared and separate functions with the teamlet.
  5. Facilitate better and more effective interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration through improved 
    communication.
  6. Recognise the importance of effective team decision making where team members with complementary 
    and varying skills can help to examine issues and contribute from various angles and perspectives.
  7. Understand that leadership can be shared in teams with team members taking responsibility for tasks 
    according to the skills and competencies.
  8. Recognize the importance of effective leadership that focuses on both task completion and relationship 
    building where all team members are invested in achieving its team’s goals and objectives.
  9. Introduced to the different conflict styles and explore ways to resolve conflicts with each style in the 
    team by developing effective interpersonal skills.
